    About the Award

    The Steven F. Rubin, DO, FACOFP dist. Emerging Osteopathic Student Leader Awards recognize up to four exceptional osteopathic medical students who have made meaningful contributions to ACOFP, demonstrated a strong commitment to family medicine, and shown dedication to community service.

    Named in honor of ACOFP Past President Steven F. Rubin, DO, FACOFP dist., the awards reflect his legacy of leadership, mentorship, service, and dedication to supporting the next generation of osteopathic family physicians.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Must be an OMS II, OMS III, or OMS IV ACOFP student member 
    • Must be a member of both the ACOFP student chapter and national ACOFP
    • Must have demonstrated meaningful contributions to ACOFP and a strong commitment to community service
    • Must have attended at least one ACOFP affiliate or national convention (virtual or in-person)

  • Qualifications and Requirements

  • Are you a member of your ACOFP student chapter?*
  • Have you attended at least one ACOFP affiliate meeting (regional, state or military) or ACOFP Annual Convention and Scientific Seminars (virtual or in-person). If your state does not have an ACOFP affiliate society, attendance at an AOA affiliate meeting meets this requirement.*

  • Upload a 3 to 5-minutes video outlining your goals and aspirations in connection to your osteopathic philosophy. Share why you are a strong candidate for the award and highlight an activity or event that positively impacted your school or community. In your video, address one of the following: 

    • Your level of participation and leadership in that activity, and how you plan to apply the experience to future patient care, or
    • Your involvement with a local, national, or international organization, or your demonstrated contributions to ACOFP and commitment to community service.

    All video entries must be uploaded as a digital video format. The length should be 3 to 5 minutes and include a 10 second title slide including the following information: Full Name, Year in School, School Name, City and State.
