For over 20 years, Share the Joy has worked hard to make the holiday season brighter for Scott County children in need. With the help of generous sponsors, thousands of children have experienced the joy of a Christmas gift.
Once a child has been registered and accepted into Share the Joy program, their wish list is shared with donors in our community who purchase new gifts of clothing and toys. We suggest spending $100-$150 per child. Please do not purchase gift cards.
Our community is blessed with many generous people, and we are so very thankful; if you have the desire to give more than the suggested amount, please consider sponsoring another child or family.
Please, connect with your family(s) as soon as possible to work out any questions, the drop off plans, and to assure them they have been sponsored.
We ask that families be sponsored together. If the family has more dependents than you would like to sponsor, we ask that you find someone you are familiar with to share the sponsorship with.
Please do not leave price tags on the gifts.
We have tried to identify any language barriers that may come up and have included the FRYSC at their school in the corresponding email to help in communicating with the family. Also, a text may be an easier form of communication with them.
