Who Can Apply?
The bursary application process is open to anyone who:
- Is the child (natural, legally adopted, or stepchild) of a Bethany employee who has completed at least one year of permanent full-time or part-time employment with Bethany
- Is under the age of 25 on December 31, 2024
- Is a full-time student in grade 12 or at a post-secondary institution, and
- Will be enrolled in the coming school year at a recognized Canadian university, college, or technical institution in a program of study leading to a degree or diploma
How Many Times Can I Apply?
You may apply in any year that you meet the criteria above. Each year you apply, you must submit a new, updated application form with current transcripts.
Are There Other Considerations?
Bursaries are taxable in the award year. All awardees must submit their social insurance number to issue a Revenue Canada T4A form. If you receive a bursary and withdraw from your program before completing the academic year, you must return the award to Bethany.
How Are the Awards Selected?
The Founders’ Bursary recognizes scholastic excellence, clear career goals, outstanding leadership, and community service. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee that includes Bethany Board members, leadership team representatives and others as appropriate. Applicants will be advised of the committee’s decision in September 2024. Bursaries will be awarded at an event to recognize the selected students' outstanding achievements.
Complete the application below by June 30, 2024. This form can be saved anytime prior to submission by clicking the "Save" button at the bottom of the form.
For your application to be considered, you will also need to upload 1) a copy of your most recent transcript; 2) two signed reference letters; and 3) your post-secondary acceptance letter (for grade 12 students only) as part of this form.
