Okami Canine Events

Submit your info to be automatically invited to future Okami Canine events and group classes. Neutrality classes are only open to current and past Okami canine clients who have completed training programs with us and have continued to practice their training.
When our events are open to the public, all handlers are expected to adhere to Okami Canine’s standards of ethics and animal welfare.

If we observe, or are informed of, any handling of dogs that we consider unacceptable, you will be asked to leave the event immediately and will be banned from future Okami Canine events.

Ethical training and animal welfare are central to Okami Canine’s values, and we will not tolerate any actions that cause fear, pain, or suffering to dogs in our care or in our vicinity.
Please follow these guidelines at all Okami Canine events:

No hands-free, waist attached leashes. Good dog training uses the leash as a communication tool. There is zero benefit to not having a direct line of tactile communicaiton between you and your dog.

No nose-to-nose greetings. All greets will happen in motion, if they happen at all. Our events are geared at creating stable, neutral dogs. Thery are not play dates.

One dog per handler please. That means one dog per person.

Please check your gear prior to arrival. Leashes, clasps, safety backups - all in reliable working order please.

Bring water for your dogs. Even in colder weather, your dog will work up a thirst while training around other dogs.
