Tumble Tots Ages 3-6: Our Tumble Tots class is designed to burn off energy while building the fundamental "building blocks" of tumbling. This class focuses on mastering essential body shapes—like tuck, pike, and hollow—which are the secret to safe and powerful tumbling as they grow. In this class, your athlete will work on: Fundamental Skills: Forward and backward rolls, handstands, and the start of cartwheels. Body Control: Developing balance, coordination, and core strength through fun, age-appropriate drills. Listening & Logic: Learning how to follow a circuit, take turns, and follow coach instructions in a positive environment.
Beginner Tumbling: Ages 6+ Is your athlete ready to master the basics? Our Beginner Tumbling class is the perfect place to build a rock-solid foundation! We focus on more than just "doing the move"—we focus on the correct form and technique that makes future skills easy and safe. What We’re Working On: The Essentials: Perfecting body shapes (hollow, arch, tuck) Flexibility & Strength: Strong bridges and bridge kickovers The Fundamentals: Handstands, cartwheels, and powerful round-offs Confidence: Learning to tumble with power and precision!
Walkovers: Master your Front and Back Walkover at Northern Extreme Athletics! This intensive, one-hour class is designed to help you nail your technique, improve flexibility, and gain the confidence to stick the landing every time. Prerequisites: To ensure everyone stays safe and makes the most of the session, athletes should already have: A solid Bridge (pushed up with straight arms) A controlled Handstand A Back Bridge Kickover (or be very close to landing it!)
Handsprings: Ready to master that Back Handspring? Join us at Northern Extreme Athletics for a high-energy, 60-minute intensive designed to get you upside down with confidence. Whether you're working on the power of your swing or perfecting your landing, our coaches provide the expert spotting and specialized drills you need to level up. Prerequisites for Safety: To ensure a safe and productive environment, all athletes must have mastered the following foundation skills before enrolling: Solid Round-Off: Must demonstrate a strong rebound. Backbend Kickover: Proficient execution required. Foundational Skills: Mastery of cartwheels and front/back walkovers. Strength & Flexibility: Recommended 60-second wall handstand and bridge with stacked shoulders.
Aerials: Master your Aerial at Northern Extreme Athletics! This specialized one-hour class focuses on the power, lift, and landing mechanics needed to ditch the hands and nail this impressive skill. Prerequisites: To ensure a safe and productive environment, athletes must already have: A strong, consistent Cartwheel (with proper form) A powerful One-Handed Cartwheel (both sides) A solid Dive Cartwheel (demonstrating lift)
