Electrolysis (including thermolysis, galvanic, and blend) is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal. Temporary side effects of treatment might include swelling, redness, mild skin discomfort, scabbing, dry skin, and the appearance of whiteheads. Be sure to follow your electrologist's recommendations in order to minimize these effects. Extremely rare side effects can include bruising, scarring, infection, numbness, hyperpigmentation, and hypopigmentation.
