New Member Compact

The Junior League of Napa-Sonoma is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
I am looking forward to the coming year with the Junior League of Napa-Sonoma, and continuing to join our members in enhancing the well-being of our community. With my membership I confirm my commitment to:
- The Junior League of Napa-Sonoma and its Mission (noted above).
- Willingly sharing my time and talents for the League’s work.
- During the League Year, I will work with the League to determine when and how my time and talents can best be utilized to meet the League’s needs as well as my interests.
- Contributing to and/or utilizing learning opportunities made available by the League to complete my work to the best of my ability, as well as to enhance my community and civic leadership skills.
- Staying informed of the League’s work and remaining connected with the League throughout the year.
- Paying my membership dues according to the schedule outlined in the League’s Policies, Procedures and Guidelines (PPGs).

Membership Requirements, Dues & Time Frame

New Member Fees are due with the submission of the New Member Application. Payment plans can be arranged through the Treasurer. Some full or partial scholarships may be available. See the Membership Council VP for details. Payment plans or scholarships will be kept confidential.

It is recommended that application and dues be submitted as early as possible to schedule your New Member Onboarding.

Membership Dues for the following year (2025-26) are due annually by March 1. Any unpaid dues are grounds for termination after May 31. Scholarships from the Bunny O’Brien Scholarship Fund are available to all members. (Please note: Scholarship funds cannot be used to cover financial commitments for fundraisers or fees.) Dues are non-refundable.

Active Transfers – total amount due: $205 ($65 Orientation Fee + $140 Dues)

New Member Process & Requirements: After fees have been processed, the Membership VP will be in touch to set up a one-on-one meeting (via Zoom) to review JLNS requirements which include:
- Attendance at a New Member Orientation
- Introduction to your New Member Mentor
- Education on JLNS, our programs, history and the AJLI
- Participation in a Done-in-a Day (DIAD) project
- Attendance at our General Membership Meetings (GMMs). Attendance may be in-person or via Zoom. GMMs are typically held on Wednesday evenings.
- Complete a volunteer shift at each of the League fundraisers in the League year.
