Guidelines for the Young Floridian
1. Applicants must be a high school senior going to school or living in St. Lucie County.
2. Winners receive:
  - A two-year scholarship with a book stipend to attend IRSC to obtain their associate degree.
  - $500 toward their university expenses made payable to their school of attendance.
  - $500 check made payable to the winner!
3. The deadline to submit the completed application is Friday, February 27, 2026, by 4:00PM.
4. Judging Breakfast will be held on Friday, March 27,2026 at 9am at the IRSC Pruitt Campus, William, and Helen Thomas STEM Center (Building S) located at 500 N.W. California Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986 (MUST ATTEND).
5. The Young Floridian Scholarship Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Sunrise Theatre at 1PM.

7. Academic Excellence applicants are required to submit their transcripts.
Purpose And Qualifications

The purpose of the Young Floridian Scholarship Award program is to recognize the outstanding students in our high schools and their service to our community. A Young Floridian Award is given in each category to the individual whose records of achievement and service best exemplify the use of his/her abilities.
