Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Project FeederWatch!
FeederWatch Program Assistants will participate in the national citizen science program by identifying bird species found at the Nature Center. Volunteers must have a passion for birding and the ability to learn how to quickly identify birds by markings. An appreciation and enthusiasm for environmental preservation are preferred. Ideal candidates will be independent, self-directed, and possess an ability to problem-solve. All birding abilities are welcome!
Volunteers in this program must participate in an orientation/training session before they can register for shifts.
Program participants will complete a 2-hour shift (maximum) of counting backyard birds visiting the bird feeders at the Nature Center from November 2023 - March 2024 on selected weekdays and weekends. Shifts will be 11:00-1:00pm or 2:00-4:00pm with some flexibility.
Please fill out this form to indicate your interests and we will contact you to discuss the next steps.
