    Dr. Ryan Peebles, DPT

    Great to meet you, {firstname}

You should wait on doing this program...

While Core Balance Training will not cause any harm to your spine, there are certain "contraindications" which must be followed after invasive back surgery. Since you answered yes to the previous question, we recommend that you wait at least 6 weeks after your surgery before enrolling in the CBT Program (3 months if you've had spinal fusion surgery).

That said, we genuinely believe CBT is the most important thing you can do to improve your surgery outcome. But wait until you're ready, because we do have to follow the rules...

Feel free to finish the assessment anyways.

    That's okay!

While you don’t need a referral to do Core Balance Training, it's important to not self diagnose. Lower back pain is associated with many conditions...

Why the Back Pain Industry continues to fail us...

Modern healthcare tends to be "treatment" focused, and doesn't target the underlying cause of chronic LBP.

Chronic back pain is a much deeper problem in the interconnected system of your body and mind.

In fact, more than 1000 studies have been published evaluating all types of conservative and surgical treatments for LBP, and the vast majority of treatments were not classified as beneficial.[1]

That's because back pain treatments tend to make changes from the outside → in, and this approach is ineffective.

Let's take a look at why the underlying cause of back pain can only be reversed from the inside → out...

    Low back pain occurs when...

under-active deep core (posture) muscles force surface level (movement) muscles in the body to compensate, becoming over-active and creating a "muscle imbalance".

Studies have shown that most people with low back pain have ongoing surface muscle strain[2]. This tensing of movement muscles (outside) is a protection mechanism - it is the body's attempt to compensate for a lack of trunk muscle (inside) support.

Do you think improving these deep core muscles could help your back?

    You're right!

Active deep core muscles not only protect the spine, but also allow surface muscles to relax, resolving the muscle imbalance from the inside → out.

Core Balance Training was created because there is no other program out there focused on building the deep core-spine connection.

CBT teaches you to connect 3 major support zones around your spine. The "Core Anchors" create a strong foundation of support for your spine during movement.

Over time, this connection becomes part of all your movement, protecting your spine at all times of the day.

    Why is this so significant?

When all movement becomes healthy for your spine, you don't need to rely on exercises to stay out of pain.

The activities you love keep your back pain-free and you happy, without flare-ups.
