Women Painters of Washington Application

We Will be Accepting Applications for Membership for 2024

Starting October 1, 2023, ending February 15, 2024
ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP
Applicants must be women artists of professional standing, living in the state of Washington. Acceptable mediums for eligibility are paints of all kinds, pastels, colored pencils, charcoal, ink, etchings, monotypes, hand pulled prints, encaustic, collage, or mixed media in 2D format.

Paintings submitted should be A COHESIVE SERIES of your work.

Applicants must have exhibited in three (3) qualifying shows.
Listed exhibitions must show evidence of showing in recognized galleries.
Shows must have taken place within the past five (5) years in two (2) of the following categories:
- A regional arts center or museum
- An established gallery
- The professional division of an open juried/non-juried exhibition
Work will NOT be considered if done under and/or critiqued by an instructor.

Artwork Image Preparation

Five (5) jpegs images of:
A COHESIVE SERIES of work
• Created in the past 5 years.
• Take high quality, evenly lit photographs of your work.
• Photos should be cropped; no picture frames, extraneous backgrounds are not visible.

Prepare jpegs to the following specifications:

Resize your image to 72 ppi (pixels per inch)
• No more than 900 PIXELS ON LARGEST SIDE
• Label your image files using the following EXACT format:
o LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME-_TITLE_MEDIUM__ HxWxD _YEAR.JPG
o Photo file names cannot have asterisks, spaces, or commas.
o Dimensions to be stated in HxWxD (Height, Width, Depth) format
o No fractions or decimals.
