Students are encouraged to participate in a recital once they have learned a piece and want to perform it. JOMP holds open recitals on the first Saturday of every month beginning in November. First Saturday recitals are designed to be a welcoming and relaxed experience for student performers of all ages and abilities.
SPRING RECITALS: If your private teacher is not hosting a studio recital, or you are unable to attend it, you may sign up for the June Open Recitals. They will take place on Saturday, June 7th with three recital blocks available.
How to Sign Up for a Recital:
- Discuss with your teacher.
Your teacher will determine if you have a piece of music ready to perform.
- Make sure you have all the information needed to sign up.
You will need the composer’s name, title of the work and movement, and length of the work that you will be performing.
- Sign up for a recital that you can attend.
Sign-ups will be made available on a rolling basis and shared in JOMP's monthly newsletter.
-
Check your email.
Following your recital signup, you will receive a confirmation email. Your teacher will receive an email requesting approval of this recital request. If the teacher does not approve the request for any reason, you will be notified by the office.

Rehearse with the accompanist.
If you are performing a piece and would like us to provide a piano accompanist, please select "JOMP Staff Accompanist" on the relevant page. Monica Daly (monica@jomp.org) will reach out to coordinate rehearsals.
