Land & Wave offers a range of outdoor activities which are physically & mentally demanding.
Our activities include but are not limited to;
Bushcraft - This can involve lighting fires, using sharp tools, preparing food and other associated woodland crafts.
Climbing - involves moving over rock, ascending cliff faces and using specialist equipment such as harnesses and belay devices.
Coasteering - Involves exploring a rocky coastline, swimming in moving water, climbing, jumping from height and entering caves.
Paddlesports - May involve paddling Kayaks, Stand up Paddleboards, Jumbo Paddle Boards or Canoes. You will be playing games and going for a paddle journey. Sessions are likely to result in participants falling or jumping into the water.
If Coasteering, you will be required to swim and move around in breaking waves and water with currents. It is important you are water confident, are able to swim 25m and understand what you will be doing.
For Paddlesports, your will be required to move around in deep water while wearing a buoyancy aid. It is important that you are confident in the water.
All of these activities are physically demanding and accidental injury or illness is possible.
All activities are run in a dynamic environment and conditions can change.
Land & Wave Instructors continually monitor swell, tides and weather before and during sessions.
Sessions may be cut short or cancelled at any point if the instructor deems it inappropriate for any individual's ability.
Accidents can happen; Land & Wave does not accept any responsibility for personal injury unless we have been negligent. Please follow instructions at all times.
You must tell us about any health issues which may impact participation such as;
Asthma
Heart or respiratory issues
Mental Health Concerns
Previous medical issues we should be aware of (Surgeries)
Or anything else that will impact the activities described above
Inhalers, epipens or any required medication must be brought with you. Your instructor can look after these on session.
