Join APAP and seasoned industry colleagues for this FREE three-part series October 19, October 26, and November 16 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. (ET).
Designed by performing arts professionals for performing arts professionals, Welcome to the Field provides practical information and advice on navigating the business of this industry as you prepare for the current programming, booking, touring and conference season.
Who it’s for:
Arts professionals working in management/booking/presenting who want to learn the “basics” of arts presenting:
- Currently working or interested in working in a presenting organization or booking agency, and
- In the first five years of their career, or
- Transitioning from another field, or
- Moving into a larger role at a presenting or booking/management organization.
- This course is not designed for arts professionals with more than 5 years of working experience in the field. APAP will conduct some initial vetting to determine if this sequence is the right fit for the registrant.
What you’ll get:
- Three 2-hour interactive sessions* featuring seasoned and new colleagues.
- Session 1: Presenting, Management, and Booking: A 360 View of the Industry
- Session 2: Getting the Most from your Conference Experience
- Session 3: Living the Future: New Best Practices in Arts Presenting
- New relationships with a cohort of fellow arts professionals in similar roles
- A basic primer on the field to help you hit the ground running
- Participants who register and complete all three sessions will receive a certificate of completion and public recognition by APAP, the national service organization serving the presenting, booking and touring field and the professionals who work within it.
* You do not need to attend all three sessions, but it’s highly encouraged.
