As a volunteer for Southeastern California Conference (SECC), I acknowledge and agree to the following:

I acknowledge and agree that I shall not be considered an employee of SECC and/or the Church at any time for any purposes including but not limited to wages, workers’ compensation, and any employment benefits. I agree and understand that my services and participation is provided as a donation and that my volunteer assignment(s) may be terminated at any time for any reason.

I agree to conduct myself in a courteous and professional manner as a volunteer and representative of SECC and/or the Church. I agree and acknowledge that I will abide by all safety requirements and instructions given to me by Church personnel during my participation in the program. I agree to follow the supervision and direction of any personnel or employee to whom I have been assigned.

VOLUNTEER LEVEL I, I agree to the following:

• I agree to complete the training and background check through Sterling Volunteers at: https://www.ncsrisk.org/adventist/ 
• I agree to sign and submit this Volunteer Agreement and to abide by the directives.
• I agree that at any time my volunteer service exceeds Volunteer Level I to report this to the church administrators and to follow the directives set up for Volunteer Level II.
• I agree that if I encounter a reasonable suspicion of child abuse, regardless of familial or church relationships with myself, the church staff or church membership, that I will report the abuse to the pastor or a mandated reporter for reporting to child protective services or law enforcement.

As a VOLUNTEER LEVEL II, I agree to the following:

• I agree and acknowledge that I must complete the training for “Volunteers” provided on the California state website https://mandatedreporterca.com/. I acknowledge that I am required and agree to submit the certificate of completion to the SECC Human Resources Department. I further agree to take this training every other year to continue volunteer service and to submit the certificate of completion after each subsequent training course.
• I agree to complete the Live Scan background check and to be cleared by the SECC HR Department before I am cleared to volunteer. I understand that I may not be reimbursed for the Live Scan process, depending on church policy.
• I understand that if driving is an essential requirement of my participation in the program, I will log into Sterling at: www.ncsrisk.org/adventist to have the DMV report run and will not be allowed to drive until I have been cleared to drive by the church .
• I agree that if I encounter a reasonable suspicion of child abuse, regardless of familial or church relationships with myself, the church staff or church membership, that I will report the abuse to the pastor or a mandated reporter for reporting to child protective services or law enforcement.

In consideration of being permitted to participate as a Volunteer (Volunteer I or II), I agree to the following:

•  Release and Waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release from liability and waive my right to sue SECC and the church listed below, its officers, employees, and agents, (hereafter collectively "Releases") from any and all claims, including claims of the Releases' negligence, resulting in any physical injury, illness (including death or economic loss I may suffer or which may result from my participation in this activity, except for those caused by willful misconduct, gross negligence, or intentional torts of the above parties as applicable. 
• Assumption of Risk. I know, understand, and appreciate the risks that are inherent in these volunteer programs, and activities, such as physical and/or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, temporary or permanent disability, death, or economic loss. I hereby assert that my participation is voluntary and that I knowingly assume all such risks.
