Presentation
The Eurotoolbox is a special collection of literature for children and young adults in French, English, German (Austria), Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish, carefully selected by the respective European Institutes’ librarians.
A collection turns for 2 years, so there is always 2 available to borrow, currently:
A Eurotoolbox contains 60 to 80 books: it is a mix of pictures books, audio books, comic books, novels, non-fiction books suited for ages 3 to 16. It is packaged in 2 or 3 boxes.
It can be borrowed for up to 6 weeks.
All of the information about the current collections and their content can be found on the links provided above.
All contacts regarding the Eurotoolbox must be made through email to Flore Hodencq at flore.hodencq@institut-francais.org.uk
Terms
To borrow a Eurtoolbox you must be a teacher or a librarian.
You must contact Flore (emails above) to book a box depending on availability. You must give a contact name and an institution address (library or school)
When a new Eurotoolbox is launched, the first institution receive it directly from the Institut Français, but then it is transfered directly from one institution to another. Flore will keep in touch by email to inform you of the state of the postage, and if there are already any problems noted (missing book, fragile book...).
It is required of you to email Flore straight away to confirm the good receipt of the Eurotoolbox, and you must check the content of the box and report straightaway any problems to her.
The Eurotoolbox is borrowed for a maximum of 6 weeks after the date it has been received. We will remind you one week before the due date that you will have to send it, and you will be given the address of postage.
The documents must be sent back in the same state as they were received. Nothing can be printed, stamped or stuck on them.
If a document gets damaged under your care, you are asked not to try to repair it but to send it back to Flore (The Institut Français). You might be asked to send a new copy if it is deemed not repairable.
If a document is reported missing by the institution receiving the Eurotoolbox after you, you will be asked to send a new copy to Flore (the Institut Français).
