SWELL Sculpture Festival is a free outdoor exhibition, presenting over 60 awe inspiring artworks and a spectacular program of events for 10 days. The signature exhibition is held along the Currumbin Beach / Ocean Walkway, Pacific Parade, Currumbin, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

ARTIST HONORARIUM FEE

We are pleased to offer an Artist Honorarium Fee of $500 towards the cost of exhibiting at SWELL. Artists installing their sculpture will be eligible for the honorarium fee of $500. This applies to one sculpture / artist. Collaborations will receive one fee and share it amongst the group. If you are a collaborating arts group, please indicate who the contact will be for receiving this payment. Please provide your ABN and bank details on your invoice to SWELL. If you are registered for GST add this to your invoice.

ARTIST STATEMENT

The Artist statement forms an important part of your application. It is critical to communicate a message that is well articulated and relates to the work. Please write your statement in third person format if applicable. Your artist statement is the verbal description of your work. The artist statement is for inclusion in the official printed program, on the SWELL website, site plaque and may be shared with media - max 90 words

INSTALLATION OF ARTWORK
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Your artwork will be temporarily installed in a public space and as such, your supporting documentation should be comprehensive and include the required information outlined below. Should your submission not include this important documentation it may be deemed non-conforming and not eligible for consideration.

Your submission can include a completed work or a work in progress.

Your submission MUST include clear and comprehensive support documentation including:
- Concept drawings that are to scale with front and side elevations
- Support images of completed or partly completed work
- Information and drawings of foundation and footings
- Detail on any lighting included with the sculpture
- Machinery required
- Plinth details (if required)
- Maintenance required during SWELL

SITE PLACEMENT

The curator will discuss the placement of sculptures and consider all aspects of installation, including site and situation, footings, access and safety.

NOTE:

Engineer certification may be required with certain works particularly those situated on the headlands and those with considerable height or weight. Prior to your application, please contact SWELL with any questions about requirements.

Sculpture sites are not guaranteed, your site will be finalised following a meeting with the curator.

The SWELL team assists with the installation of your work by providing machinery and a site manager to supervise.

Fees will apply should you need SWELL to install or uninstall an artwork on your behalf, please see terms and conditions.
