Heather Woodbury is a writer-performer known for stage serials that combine the immediacy of solo performance with the scope of a novel. Critically praised in the NY Times, Chicago Sun-Times and featured on Ira Glass’s THIS AMERICAN LIFE, her works take the pulse of people’s lives in the crosshairs of history. In addition to numerous stage productions in USA and Europe, they are published as novels (FSG, Semiotexte) & podcast as radio plays. In 2020, 91 performing artists from17 cities performed Heather’s 12 part serial AS THE GLOBE WARMS on Zoom, raising donations for a dozen pandemic relief funds. She is the recipient of NEA, Kennedy, OBIE, C.O.L.A. (City of L.A.) & Spalding Gray Awards for playwriting and performing.
