    The 2023 Oceania Open is not just another event; it's a pivotal moment in judo's journey towards the Olympic stage. As Perth readies itself to take the global spotlight, the commitment and passion of volunteers like you become integral to our collective success. Your role as a volunteer will not only allow you to immerse yourself in the exhilarating world of judo but also offer a unique opportunity to contribute to the community and the sport.

    For your dedication, all volunteers will receive an official event staff polo and complimentary access to the entire event, ensuring you don't miss out on any of the action even when off duty.

    Outlined below are the roles available for volunteers, along with the specific dates these roles are active. We encourage you to review them and find the best fit for your skills and interests. Following your application, if you are successful in your volunteer role selection, our team will get in touch to discuss the next steps.

  • Role Description Dates Required
    Welcome Party Greeting delegations upon arrival at Perth Airport. Possibly providing transport to a small number of delegates. Tuesday, 7 November to Monday, 13 November
    Table Officials Operating the scoreboard and performing other table official duties during the event. Friday, 10 November to Sunday, 12 November
    Venue Access Points Monitoring entry into the event venue and access to back-of-house facilities. Friday, 10 November to Sunday, 12 November
    Marshalling Managing the flow of athletes from the warm-up area to the competition zone. Friday, 10 November to Sunday, 12 November
    Bump-In Assisting in setting up the venue for the event. Thursday, 9 November
    Bump-Out Assisting in dismantling and packing up the venue after the event. Monday, 13 November
    Medical Medical staff will be present during the event. Friday, 10 November to Sunday, 12 November
    Weigh-In Supporting the weigh-in process the afternoon before each competition day. Thursday, 9 November to Saturday, 11 November
    Gi Control Performing gi control checks for competing athletes during the event. Friday, 10 November to Sunday, 12 November
    Training Venue Volunteer Overseeing athlete access to the training facilities before and during the event. Wednesday, 8 November to Saturday, 11 November
    Miscellaneous Roles related to the event, including back-of-house roles such as catering, VIP services, and other miscellaneous responsibilities. Tuesday, 7 November to Monday, 13 November
