  • Thank you for your interest in exhibiting in The Old Milk Bar - Local Craft & Eco Hub.

    When you fill in the following form you will be added to our waiting list and when an appropriate space becomes available we will be in touch. 

    We are a Not For Profit Community Interest Company run entirely by a staff of volunteers in the heart of Chirk.

    We sell Art & Craft items on behalf of local exhibitors (North Wales / Shropshire / Cheshire).  We also sell Eco products & Refills of household products and toiletries.  We display local information and collect hard-to-recycle items such as corks, light bulbs and make-up to serve the local & tourism community too.

    We also have a dedicated space in which to host Art, Craft & Wellbeing Workshops so please get in touch if you would like to know more about hiring the space for gatherings or running workshops.

    On the B5070, Church Street offers a wide variety of independent businesses and is only a short walk from Chirk Aqueduct and Chirk Castle. It is well served by Local Buses coming from both Oswestry and Wrexham with a Bus stop directly opposite the shop. There is also a mainline Railway Station 5 minutes walk away and several FREE car parks less than 1 minute from the shop.

    By completing & submitting the Exhibitor Application Form you are hereby accepting the terms & conditions specified below. If you would like to discuss anything before applying please contact Neera by emailing theoldmilkbarchirk@gmail.com 

  • You, The Stockist, will be responsible for:

    Delivery (except when collection has been agreed in certain circumstances) of all clearly labelled stock with your name/initials or business name (if applicable) plus short description & price alongside  the inventory to The Old Milk Bar, on the agreed date/time.  

    Inventory of all stock delivered, in duplicate with a short description (which matches the one on the label), number of items and retail price. We kindly request that you only supply a maximum of 10 variants at any one time. 

    (Please ensure you have taken into account our commission charges when deciding on your pricing and if possible please price items in round pounds or 50p to assist with cash sales and accounting. We kindly request that your prices are kept at the same level for at least 3 months to minimise administration.  If you are in any doubt what price point you should choose we are happy to offer advice we you deliver your items.)

    Keeping stock replenished only when requested by The Old Milk Bar and delivered at an arranged time along with an updated inventory.  We will endevour to give you as much notice as possible and will then arrange a mutually agreeable date & time to deliver your item(s).

    Providing a copy of an up-to-date insurance policy (if applicable). Provision of insurance will be your responsibility and The Old Milk Bar accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of stock from/in the premises.  If you have any queries about whether insurance is applicable to your items please get in touch.

    Faulty Goods sales that prove to be faulty are the responsibility of the seller and not The Old Milk Bar

    Paying the required one-off 'Starter Fee'* of £20 on or before the date of stock delivery by cash, card or BACS.  (This amount is fixed, no matter at what point during the quarter you apply/are accepted.) 

    The ongoing cost of being an exhibitor is £10 per month** This 'Retainer Fee' will be automatically deducted from your sales every quarter.  In the unlikely event that your sales do not cover this cost we will invoice you for the outstanding balance.   Please note: If you decide to leave before the first quarter ends there will be no refund of your 'Starter Fee' and the monthly 'Retainer Fee' due will still be requested/retained.

    Collecting unsold stock from the shop when we request (at a mutually agreed time) 

    Keeping your contact details up to date with The Old Milk Bar.

    Following the shop Instagram and/or Facebook accounts @theoldmilkbarchirk (if applicable) so that you can be tagged in any posts that highlight your makes.

     


    Stock must meet the following requirements:

    Items must handmade/designed by you

    Products for sale must not be in breach of any copyright laws

    Products must adhere to any legal requirements- Hallmarks, CE testing, Warning labels etc. (if you are unsure please speak to trading standards for advice)

    To be free of 'single-use' plastic wherever possible

    Not include prejudiced, abusive or offensive language or items.


    We, The Proprietors, will be responsible for:

    Keeping Records of all sales and monies owed to exhibitors, notifying them via email when stock needs replenishing or seasonal stock may be needed.

    Paying money owed from sales (with the 'Commission' of 15% AND the 'Retainer Fee' of £10 per month deducted first) to the exhibitor on or around the beginning of each quarter (January, April, July & October) by BACS (If cash is preferred you will be notified by email when this will be available to collect.)

    Ensuring the shop is kept safe and secure with all relevant insurances and safety checks implemented.

    Staffing of the shop will be undertaken and closely monitored by the company directors and volunteers will go through a rigorous application and training procedure.

    Marketing the shop in the community and online, hosting events and ensuring that customers are in the shop to browse and purchase products

    Rotating stock regularly and highlight makers within the premises and online to maximize sales. Any videos/photographs are taken at the shop's discretion and are not guaranteed                          

    **Commission is 15% for all Exhibitors. 

    Please Note: commission rates are non-negotiable.
     

    The above agreement can be reviewed by both parties at any time. It is expected that the exhibitor contributes to the selling of their products by sharing on their website and/or social media that their items are available from The Old Milk Bar and include any appropriate links to maximize visibility.  If you able to help in any other way, by diseminating leaflets/spreading the word etc it would be greatly appreciated too.

    We reserve the right to choose what is exhibited in the shop to best utilise space and selling seasons.  We also reserve the right to refuse hosting any exhibitor who fails to abide by the above terms.

    We aim to try and make selling creations accessible to all.  Please contact us to arrange a special circumstances discount if required.
