  • Important: Please note that a fee of $250 will be required before any of your following submissions, credentials and/or letters of recommendation may be reviewed. After completing the form, you will receive an invoice within 48 hours of submission.

  • Instructions: Please fill out the sections of the form to the best of your abilities. Please be sure to submit all materials that the IHF has requested. You may skip over sections that you have already submitted to the IHF or information that the IHA has not required you to submit.

  • Professional Video Assessment URL * 

    A practical assessment video is required for all types of Professionals and helps the IHF to evaluate your skills as applied to your interactions with students, clients, and horses. If applying for more than one type of Professional, please submit one practical assessment video for each. Please review the assessment forms for each type below in preparation for your video. If you have already submitted the video to the IHF or if we have indicated that we do not require a video submission, please state as much in the text box below.

    General Requirements: Videos should be between 5 and 10 minutes in length and should not include cuts unless changing locations, tack, etc. Audio and visual quality should allow your assessors to see and understand what is being taught. Practical Assessment Video Example

    Video Submission Instructions: Upload your video to YouTube, Facebook, or any other platform you feel comfortable with. Be sure to have the skill assessment being demonstrated in the Title of the Video. You can post your video as 'unlisted' on YouTube or 'secret' on Facebook if you do not wish to make the video public. Afterwards, you can paste the URL link for any completed video here.

     

  • Video Skill Assessments URL's * 

    IHF Professional applicants must demonstrate a minimum degree of skill in one or more areas of horsemanship. To evaluate these skills, we ask that you film yourself performing certain movements in the Grades of Horsemanship Skill Sets of your choice. If you have already submitted the video to the IHF or if we have indicated that we do not require a video submission, please state as much in the text box below.


    General Requirements: 

    Please submit one video per Skill Set that you are applying for.

    Instructors & Trainers: To become an IHA Instructor or Trainer in a particular Skill Set, please submit a Ground Skills assessment video that demonstrates at least Grade 6 competency. If you wish to become recognized in any other Skill Sets (Bridle Riding, Liberty, Free Riding, In-Hand, and Long Lining), your application must include an additional assessment video for each (additional submission fees apply, free for the first 30 applicants).Please note that the Ground Skills assessment video must be submitted first. All other Skill Set assessments are optional and maybe completed at any time. However, if the applicant’s Ground Skills video does not meet the required degree of skill, the other Skill Sets will not be assessed until the Ground Skill assessment is passed.'

    Practitioners: To become a IHF Practitioner, please submit a Ground Skills assessment video that demonstrates at least Grade 2 competency. Videos of other Skill Sets are not required. Ground Skills Video Assessment

    Facilities or Other Businesses: At this time there is no skill assessment required to be listed on the IHF website. If you wish to become part of the IHF Academy however, we may require you to submit examples of your skill sets and will inform you of the necessary levels that would be required.

     

  • Letters of Recomendation

    Please provide two letters of reference from professionals in the horse industry who appreciate your talents, such as a mentor, instructor, service provider, etc., as well as two letters of reference from students or clients (over 18 years of age).
