Westchester Ballet Company, in collaboration with its community partner Rising Above Boundaries, is currently running a free ballet program (weekly, October 13 - Nov. 17, 2023) for children 6-10 years of age in Ossining, New York. 

The goal of First Position is to provide children in the community a robust and authentic introduction to ballet so that they might consider it as a pathway for their childhood. Over the past two years, ten young dancers who we have met through our community outreach programming in Ossining have auditioned and been cast in the Company’s production of The Nutcracker. Moreover, Westchester Ballet Company has provided financial aid and scholarship opportunities for these young dancers so that the addition of ballet as an extracurricular pursuit puts no additonal financial burden on their families.

We invite you to support this important community outreach program by sponsoring a dancer. Your contribition will help us raise the necessary funding to cover the cost of ballet attire and instruction for the participants.

A donation of any amount will help to ensure that we can continue this program, as well as offer it to more children in the comunity.

$50 covers the cost of a dancer's attire (leotard, tights, ballet slippers).
$50 covers the cost of 5 hours of ballet instruction for one dancer.
