About the SAIMC
The SAIMC is driving the recognition of Automation, Instrumentation, Mechatronics and Control as enablers for effective and efficient application of new technologies. The SAIMC is working with the Automation Federation to get our industry equipped and ready to make optimal use of the technologies and designs of the fourth – as well as future industrial revolutions. The SAIMC, a Voluntary Association of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and enforces a strict code of conduct based on that of ECSA.
Didactic Branches
The SAIMC has initiated actions to reconcile disparities between tertiary education outcomes and industry needs. After consulting with the Supplier Advisory EXCO (SAC) and B-BBEE experts, SAIMC established new membership categories - Didactic Institution and Didactic Member - to incentivize educational institutions to realign their curricula and enhance collaboration, thereby ensuring academia adequately supports industry requirements.
Advantages of Joining the TUT Didactic Branch
- Free TUT Branch Student Membership:
Students in their third academic year and above are granted complimentary Didactic Member status.
- ECSA Membership Discount:
Student requiring registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) can leverage a membership discount on ECSA fees through affiliation with the SAIMC Voluntary Association (VA).
- Engagement with Industry:
Student members gain invaluable opportunities to network and engage with industry professionals during technical evenings and other events hosted by the SAIMC.
