  • TBIPOC WAIVER APPLICATION

  • As a part of Velocity's Seattle Festival of Dance + Improvisation (SFD+I) we are providing $10,000 in SFD+I tuition fee waivers to dancers who identify as Transgender, Black, Indigenous, and/or as People of Color, in an effort to shift power to Transgender and BIPOC communities. We will be offering:

    2 Waivers - Full Professional Cohort
    2 Waivers - Intermediate Cohort
    2 Waivers - Beginner Cohort
    2 Waivers - Youth Cohort
    6 Waivers - Full Research Week

    All received applications will be reviewed by Velocity Executive Director Erin Johnson, Curating Artist in Residence (CAiR) Amy O'Neal, Creative Producer Shane Donohue. They will review each application and select recipients based on the applicants responses to the questions below then picked from a lottery.

    Criteria:
    • Self identify as a Black, Indigenous and/or Person of Color and/or Transgender
    • Demonstrated commitment to a movement based practice and personal artistic development
    • Demonstrated personal and professional impact and benefit

    Applications are due February 1 and will be evaluated before February 10. If there are Work/Study Positions still available after the Early Bird Pricing, we will evaluate the more applications in April.
