For either method of DNA extraction, we revive the cultures from their preserved state and confirm the identity of the strain. The price depends on the nature of the organism, quality and quantity of DNA that you need and will be communicated to you as soon as your request has been assessed

DNA is suspended in 18μl volume of Microzone’s microLYSIS®-Plus (https://www.clentlifescience.co.uk/products/microlysis-plus/). MicroLYSIS-Plus is a release buffer that we regularly use to isolate DNAfrom bacteria and fungi, and is a very efficient formula for basic molecularbiology applications such as PCR amplification and Sanger sequencing. This is not suitable for next generation sequencing (NGS) methods

Cultures supplied by CABI are provided with either their originally-deposited name or with a subsequently-amended name. Many of our cultures were originally deposited with naming based on their morphotaxonomic characteristics by leading international taxonomists. Microbial taxonomy is not however a static science and many taxa have undergone name changes as a result of reclassification's based on molecular analysis. Whilst, we endeavour to ensure that the name given to a culture is current and correct, there may be occasions where the name provided is that originally assigned to the organism when deposited. On occasion, an alternative name may also be given.*

CABI undertakes a number of quality control procedures to ensure that each culture has retained its integrity. However, on occasions a strain may fail to grow, may be contaminated, or may fail to exhibit its expected properties. If you are not satisfied with your culture(s), please contact us within 28 days of receipt. As stipulated in our conditions of sale, liability is limited to the replacement of the strain and, if this is not possible, a refund will be given.*
