NOTES:

1.      Completed forms are required for all payment methods.

a)      CHEQUES – post or deliver to The Membership Secretary at:

       23 The Parslins, Deeping St James, Peterborough PE6 8NQ

b)      BACs – Remember to make the payment after submitting the form

2.      Member 1 must obtain permission from Member 2 before completing the form.

3.      GIFT AID - Members who are taxpayers, may Gift Aid their subscription which allows us to claim 25% extra from HMRC. A separate declaration form is required for EACH TAX PAYER just once.  Declaration forms are available from the Gift Aid Secretary.  There are also payment limitations detailed in the section below.

By requesting magazine I/We consent to my/our data being shared with the company who oversee their distribution.

Applying for membership of The Deepings u3a confirms that I/We will abide by the Terms and Conditions of membership on Page 2. The Constitution and other documents are available on the website under “Useful Info”.

Charity Gift Aid

 

Boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate

Gift Aid is reclaimed by the charity from the tax you pay for the current tax year. Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer.  

 

To claim Gift Aid you must be a taxpayer. If 2 members are shown on the form and payment is from a joint account both members can claim Gift Aid. If two members have separate accounts they can make separate payments and still claim Gift Aid. If a single payment from a single personal account is used to pay for both members then only the member making the payment can claim Gift Aid. HMRC consider payment from a single personal account covering another person as a gift so Gift Aid for the second person cannot be claimed.        

 

Please notify the charity if you:  

·         want to cancel this declaration 

·         change your name or home address 

·         no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains 

 

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

All members must:

·         Abide by the Principles of the u3a movement.

·         Always act in the best interests of the u3a and never do anything to bring the u3a into disrepute.

·         Abide by the terms and conditions of the Deepings u3a constitution.

·         Treat fellow members with respect and courtesy at all times.

·         Comply with and support the decisions of the elected committee.

·         Advise the committee of any change in your personal details.

 

PRIVACY STATEMENT

By applying for or renewing your membership you are giving us permission to use the information you have supplied in the following ways:

·         To store it securely for membership purposes.

·         To communicate with you as a u3a member, by email where possible to reduce administrative costs.

·         To share with group leaders for those groups of which you are a member.

·         To send you general information about the Third Age Trust (the national organisation to which u3as’ are affiliated.)         

Please be advised that you can request for your data not to be used for any of these purposes at any time by contacting the Membership Secretary.

 

CONSENT FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC AND VIDEO IMAGES

Occasionally Deepings u3a would like to take your photograph for promotional purposes.  These images may appear in u3a printed publications, newspapers, magazines or on our website.

 

To ensure we comply with the General Data Protection Regulations we need your consent before we take and use any photographs of you.    By applying for or renewing your membership you agree to allow this.

 

Images taken will be used for no other purpose and you may request their deletion at any time.

 

Membership renewal is due on or before 1st January each year.
