We are proud to be collaborating with the TMU Students’ Union and TMU University for our annual Holocaust Education Week (HEW). HEW seeks to bring awareness and education to the campus community to preserve the memory of what happened and to educate about the dangers of intolerance.
Join us on campus Monday November 6th and Tuesday November 7th for a photo exhibition in the SLC Lobby. We will be displaying the exhibition “ The Unknowable: Untold Stories of the Holocaust”. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided as well.
On Wednesday November 8th we are pleased to welcome guest speaker, Daniel Panneton from Friends of Simon Wiesenthal for a discussion titled Lessons From the Holocaust: Antisemtism and Hate Crime in Canada Today.
Finally, on Thursday November 9th, we will be holding our Memorial Ceremony and Survivor Testimony, featuring Sol Nayman. Sol Nayman was born in Stoczek Wegrowki, Poland on November 5, 1935. In September 1939 Sol escaped with his family to the forest and then to the Soviet Union.
We are grateful to the University and TMSU for their ongoing support of Holocaust Education Week, and together we look forward to hosting you at our events next week. Please let us know by RSVP’ing below which events you’ll be attending. Room locations for events will be emailed the day beforehand.
