CAPS Committees Need YOU!

CAPS offers members multiple ways to get involved with your union, but one of the most important ways for members to contribute is by volunteering to serve on one or more CAPS Committees. CAPS has numerous committees, and interested members are urged to apply to volunteer today to join one or more.

Note: Applying for a committee does not ensure you will be appointed to that committee. Appointed Committee chairs will review all applicable applications. Applications are due by 5pm on Thursday, October 26th.

Per the CAPS Bylaws and Policy Manual:

The President shall appoint Chairpersons of and have general supervision, direction and control of all Committees, except for the Bargaining Committee (Bylaws, Article VII. Section 1.b).
Each chairperson shall select the remainder of the committee from the membership (Policy Manual, Section D.1.a).
…the chairperson of the Bargaining Committee shall be appointed by the President and approved by the Board. Members of the Bargaining Committee shall be appointed by a joint recommendation of the President and the Chairperson and shall be approved by the Board (Bylaws, Article IV, Section 4.b).
…the chairperson of the Representation Committee shall be appointed by the President and approved by the Board. Members of the Representation Committee shall be appointed by a joint recommendation of the President and the chairperson and shall be approved by the Board (Bylaws, Article IV, Section 4.e).
The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer (Bylaws, Article IV, Section 4.f).
The Supervisory Director shall serve as the Supervisors Committee Chairperson (Bylaws, Article IV. Section 4.c).
The Treasurer shall serve as the Budget Committee chairperson (Bylaws, Article VII. Section 1.d)
