3. I understand the eligibility requirements to receive a name. My AtDNA, MtDNA or YDNA results must reflect AFRICAN Origins. I must be an African descendant whose ancestors were displaced and marginalized by the Transatlantic Slavery Trade and whose descendants continue to endure marginalization through systemic oppression as a result.
4. I understand that I MUST use my LEGAL name when completing this form and when setting up / using my Telegram Account. This is so this organization can verify you are who you say you are. The privacy and protection of our participants and grouops are paramount.
Note: If you must use fake names or nicknames, this organization is not the right fit for you. We reconnect real families and real names are used.
As a result of increased unrecognizable or fake identifications online, we will NOT process a registration for anyone that we don't know, that are using fake or nicknames on our form or on their Telegram account. Telegram is a part of the virtual naming process. Therefore, registration will be cancelled and a refund processed MINUS the processing fee.
5. I understand that my AFRICAN name will be provided based on the ethnic group that I select on this form. For example, if my ethnic group is Yoruba, I must select Yoruba on this form to receive a Yoruba name. I am required to upload a screenshot of my DNA results. If there is an issue with acquiring the name, I will be informed.
6. I understand that this organization does NOT discuss or write about religion or religious ideologies. All are respected and this is not a topic for any form of communication with us or our affiliates. The goal is genetics, reconnections and traditions of various African ethnic groups. Violators will be removed.
7. I understand that the naming ceremony is a rite a passage that requires completion of assignments both individually and collectively. The service is for DNA Tested African Descendants whose ancestors were scattered as a result of the TransAtlantic Enslavement and Trade. This organization provides a pathway back into our various African cultures through African Rites of Passage. We do far more than just provide a name. We reconnect you to the source of our ancestral origins using practical methods that assist in today’s world.
8. Some or all photographs, videos, audio and media coverage of the event will be used for brochures, newspapers, books, websites, radio, magazines, etc. By submitting this form, you are providing your consent
9. I understand that the naming facilitators will provide specific instructions and assignments related to my ethnic group that must be completed. Do not contact the founder. Refer questions to Naming.Rites@dnatestedafricans.org unless told otherwise.
10. Chargebacks - means a reversal of paymentIf a chargeback is initiated on this fee, an additional $100 administrative fee will be due immediately and membership will be permanently revoked. Please contact us before doing so because once initiated, our terms will be irrevocable. Each time a consumer files a chargeback, the merchant may be charged a fee ranging from $20 to $100 per transaction. Even if the chargeback is later canceled, the merchant will still have to pay fees and administrative costs. If the merchant accepts, the funds will be returned to the cardholder and there may still be a levy of a chargeback fee. If the merchant disputes it, the service has anywhere from 10 to 90 days (depending on the type of transaction) to investigate the charge. This causes a hold to be place on the funds, leading to more issues.
11. I understand that a REQUIRED part of this process is to complete provided individual and group educational assignments. Each assignment has significance and one builds on the previous assignment. They must be completed in order.

This is because it has been stated that at least 45 % of African Americans and other Africans in the Diaspora have at least 1 Igbo ancestor or relative. We will advise you of this in advance.
15. UNABLE TO ATTEND - If you register and find you are unable to attend, you MUST inform us by email BEFORE the date of the event in order to be eligible to register with us again.
