Plymouth City Council has extended its popular business support programme for another year, so it now runs until March 2026!

There's a wide range of support for anyone who wants to take their business to the next level, as well as residents who are at the idea stage.

    Dream

If you're a startup, or still exploring your options, you're invited to attend a series of five courses. These cover the essentials of business: creating value, marketing strategy, customer relationships, cashflow and finance, and business plans. Each lasts for two hours. The courses are held at different times of day and different days of the week so there's bound to be one that suits you. You can also choose whether you attend in person or join us online.

    Learn

After you've completed the initial course, you can join some optional workshops that look in more detail at branding, sales, pricing, and raising finance. Then, once you've completed the live programme, there's a whole bunch of support that you can look at in your own time – including videos, podcasts, quizzes, checklists, and templates. At this point, you're naturally welcome to join our more established clients.

    Grow

This part of the programme helps entrepreneurs take their business to the next level. It's a proven way to develop products, nurture customers, grow revenue, and recruit staff. You're welcome to join the programme at this point or graduate to it from the earlier stages. We realise that every business is different so we offer one-to-one consultancy, as well as courses, to ensure you get the support you need. We'll even work with you to identify what's likely to help most.

You don't have to prepare for any of the sessions and there's no expectation that you come with any answers – only questions!

The programme now runs until the end of March 2026 but there is limited availability so we recommend that you signup now.

The programme is generously supported by Plymouth City Council and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund so it is fully funded for anyone who works, studies, or lives in the city. It is delivered by Digital Remit.

We want to make sure that every member of our community has access to our services. For that reason, we'd like to ask some questions so we know a little but more about you. The questions are only used to compile statistics and are, in any case, confidential. Although it's very helpful if you answer the following, it's entirely up to you; you can answer all, some, or none of them without it affecting the service we offer you. Just leave any question blank if you prefer.
  • Thank you for completing the application form. We just need to check a few details to make sure that you're eligible and then very much look forward to welcoming you to the programme.

Although there is no charge for the service, please remember this does not mean it is free; everything is funded by our taxes and, for that reason, it is very important that you tell us if you no longer wish to participate. Please do not skip events you have booked as your place could be offered to another local person or business.
