A new, friendly programme is now available from Plymouth City Council to help local entrepreneurs take their business to the next level. You're also very welcome if you're only at the idea stage!

Dream

If you're a startup, or still exploring your options, you're invited to attend a series of five courses, which cover the essentials of business: creating value, marketing plans, customer relationships, cashflow and finance, and business plans. Each lasts for two hours and is delivered online, so you can join from anywhere. The courses are also held at different times of day and different days of the week so there's bound to be one that suits you.

Learn

After you've completed the initial course, you can join some optional workshops that look in more detail at branding, sales, pricing, and raising finance. Then, once you've completed the live programme, there's also a whole bunch of support that you can look at in your own time – including videos, podcasts, quizzes, checklists, and templates. At this point, you're naturally welcome to join our more established clients.

Grow

This part of the programme helps entrepreneurs take their business to the next level. It's a proven way to develop products, nurture customers, grow revenue, and recruit staff. You're welcome to join the programme at this point or graduate to it from the earlier stages. We realise that every business is different so we offer a series of courses that look at a huge variety of subjects. Each lasts for three hours and, as above, takes place online so you can take part wherever you are. You can attend as often as you like.

We'll even work with you to identify which subjects are likely to help most. You can choose from: branding, marketing, sales, digital, innovation, new markets, cloud apps, team building, international trade, pricing, performance management, accounts, raising finance, grants, and investor readiness. Given the wide variety of topics on offer, they are currently only delivered once – so make sure you don't miss out!

You don't have to prepare for any of the sessions and there's no expectation that you come with any answers – only questions!

One-on-one consultancy is also available at no cost to you.

The programme initially runs until the end of March 2025 and there is limited availability so we recommend that you signup now.

The programme is generously supported by Plymouth City Council and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund so it is available at no cost to anyone who works, studies, or lives in the city. It is delivered by Digital Remit.
