The UNICEF Venture Fund is interested in learning about startups that are innovating in sectors that can positively impact the world's most vulnerable children and youth. If you are developing a solution using data science, machine learning, virtual reality, blockchain or drones, we want to hear from you!
We will contact shortlisted companies with a Request for Proposal to be considered for our funding opportunity.
Only entities that fulfill these mandatory requirements will be eligible:

Registered as a private company

Registered in a UNICEF programme country
- An existing prototype of the solution with promising results from initial pilots

Working on Open Source technology solutions. Open source software is software that can be freely used, modified, and shared (in both modified and unmodified form) by anyone. For a comprehensive definition, see the Open Source Initiative's Definition. If your solution isn't already open source, we expect it to be made available as such. We recommend the following licenses:
Software: From the Open Source Initiative approved licenses, such as one of the GNU public licenses, BSD license, or MIT license.
Hardware: CERN, MIT, or TAPR licenses.
Design or Content: CC-BY license
NOTES:
- Applications must be submitted in English.
- Women-led and women-founded startups are encouraged to apply.
- Youth-led startups (led by individuals younger than 35 years old) are encouraged to apply.
