Powerlifting is open to all male and female High School students. The sport of Powerlifting focuses on three main lifts: the squat, bench press, and deadlift. It's a strength-based sport that enhances overall athletic performance by building core strength, power, and endurance. Powerlifting helps improve muscle strength, mental toughness, and overall athletic ability, complementing other sports like football, basketball, and track. It also encourages discipline and goal-setting.
Practice/training will be held thrice weekly, beginning November 20th and concluding March 1st, 2025. Anticipated training days will be on M-W-F, with a cap of 15 athletes per session. The team cap is 60 student-athletes.
All workouts will be held at Liberty Barbell, 27109 Independence Ave, Suite 101-102, Sioux Falls, SD 57108

The program, led by Jonathan (Jona) Leo, offers specialized powerlifting coaching, individualized training programs, and strength development tailored for student-athletes. All programs focus on safety, technique, and gradual progression.
Powerlifting Fee covers:
Facility Use (Liberty Barbell)
Training Program/coaching/workouts for approx 40-44 sessions + 1-3 competitions.
Entry fees to competitions (SF Christian Athletes Only)
Competition T-shirt.
