2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the first public LGBTQ+ demonstration on the island of Ireland, a march on the 27th of June in 1974 that would in time be called Dublin Pride, and would become the biggest annual celebration of diversity and inclusion in the country.
We hope you will join us on O'Connell Street at noon on Saturday, June 29th to mark 50 years of Dublin Pride. There is no need for individuals taking part to register, however if you plan to join the parade as a group, please complete the form below. There is no fee for charities or community groups entering the parade.
Before you start filling out the form, take a minute to read our helpful Q&A guide.
Q 1 - Am I filling out the right form?
This form is for charities and non-profit community groups. If you are a business please fill out this form. If you are a state or public body, political party or trade union, please fill out this form.
Q 2 - Where will I be positioned in the Parade?
The first half of the Parade is reserved for LGBTQ+ charities and community groups (see map below). Where possible we also invite a number of ally organisations to join us each year, however due to capacity levels some ally groups will be positioned in the second half based on their time of registration.
Q 3 - Can I bring a float or vehicle in the Parade?
We love floats and pageantry, however due to capacity there is a maximum number of floats permitted in the Parade, and all floats must meet minimum safety and insurance levels. If you are considering entering a float or vehicle in the Parade please contact us directly by February 29th at the latest. Unfortunately we are unable to accomodate floats registered after that date.
Q 4 - What is the deadline to register?
The earlier the better, but as a non-profit organisation we know too well the pressure all our colleagues across the sector work under. If you took part in the 2023 parade we have automatically allocated you a space based on last years registration and will hold that until we hear from you. If you need any support or advice please get in touch, parade@dublinpride.ie
