The Good Tunes (folk music) community in Brisbane is led by David De Santi.
David organises a number of community events centred around folk music, including fortnightly folk music jams at The Burrow. We've been organising community bush dances with all proceeds going to charity. Generally, over $1000 per evening has been raised.

We are looking for new partners for coming dances. We usually plan 4 for the year.

Details about the bush dance:

Bush dances have been popular for over 50 years and are a fun social event for all ages.

There will be 4 to 5 dance callers on the evening presenting a wide range of folk dances involving couples, quadrilles (square sets), large circle and longways set formations.

All the dances will be walked through and no previous experience is required.

Location: Jagera Community Hall, 121 Cordelia Street South Brisbane Qld 4101.

Wear something comfortable, have lots of exercise and experience an enjoyable evening of social dancing.

Meet interesting people of all ages and backgrounds in a relaxed atmosphere.
- Entry is $10 per person, $20 per family or affordable donation.
What we ask of you:
- Help advertise/promote the event
- Share / host Facebook event
- Distribute posters/flyers where you can
- Distribute media release if possible
- Provide some volunteers to do door control and collect entry money (from 6.30pm to 9pm). There will be cash and a Square if required
- Please use your own facility to take credit card payment
- Provide a small cash float if possible (we can do if required).
- Help setup the entry area (from 6.30pm).
How it works and what we do:
- Dance goes from 7pm to 9.15pm. Band will setup from 5.30pm.
- Entry is open to all - adults, children. $10 adults, $20 family or an affordable donation.
- It's a BYO alcohol event.
- We don't provide or sell any refreshments
What we do:
- Setup online ticketing for pre-sales (via Humanitix). David will do this and then send all the proceeds from that to the charity recipient.
- David arranges and pays for the Hall hire (as a donation)
- Create posters, flyers for distribution. We'll do a run around West End to put up.
- Create Facebook event (see previous event https://fb.me/e/1XZYFf1BA) and do social media
- Create and distribute Media Release

- Arrange the musicians, PA
- Arrange the dance callers - we have about 4 to 5 callers who provide their time as well
