Please list prior coursework that is relevant to your proposal and include a bibliography, if appropriate.

  • HOME SCHOOL APPROVAL

    Approval from your home school is a requirement of the Independent Study Proposal.  Please include the name and contact information of your academic advisor or the chair of the relevant academic department at your university or college to complete the Independent Study Approval Form. A link to the form will be automatically emailed to them upon submission of this form.

  • INDEPENDENT STUDY COURSE FEE

    There is an additional non-refundable course fee of $950 for the independent study due July 15. If we are unable to find an appropriate supervisor in Stockholm, the course fee will be refunded in full and you will select a fourth course for the spring semester. Please mail a $950 check payable to “The Swedish Program” to:

    If you receive financial aid and your aid package does not cover the cost of the independent study fee, the fee will be waived. Please ask your Financial Aid Office to complete the Independent Study Fee Waiver Form by July 15.
