I am an Assistant Professor in the College of Information Science and Technology (CIST) at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) who has extensive industry experience and has worked on multiple award-winning and best-selling commercial products including Sphero's App-Enabled BB-8.
At UNO I teach undergraduate and graduate students how to make their ideas reality through applying design theory and methods and how to integrate their design practices with a business plan and best practices for product development. Before beginning at UNO I was also an instructor teaching design courses at Oregon State University.
In addition to my industry and teaching design work, I perform research focused on design theory and automation, decision theory and cognition, Machine Intelligence, generative AI, robotics, space exploration, and automation. Due to my work related to cognition and decision theory, I hold an affiliate appointment in Neuroscience at UNO in addition to my appointment in CIST.
