Scientific research is often a slow process that requires prolonged effort before a series of experiments comes to fruition. Consequently, undergraduate research in our group is expected to be a multi-semester commitment, lasting a minimum of one academic year (two semesters + one summer).
During the academic year, students will enroll in CHEM 395 and conduct research for credit (4 credits = 12 hours per week).
During the summer, students will be expected to conduct full-time research (at least 40 hours per week) for a minimum of six weeks and will be compensated with a fixed stipend (tbc, ~$550 per week). It is expected that eligible undergraduate researchers will apply for the Schwartz Discover Grant, and Prof. Partridge will assist students to prepare their application.
Note that students must have completed CHEM 171/172 or CHEM 203/204 before joining the group. If you are planning on taking CHEM 172/204 in Spring 2024, please select 'Summer 2024' as your preferred start date, below.
