• 2025 Neotropolis Performer Application

    Build 5.1-10.10.24
  • SWAP/HIDE WW AND NEO INTRO TEXT, DO NOT RE-WRITE

  • Performing at Wasteland Weekend
(Both of our events have very similar submission requirements, so you will see references to our other event Neotropolis in this application as well)

Whether you’re one of our veteran performers or new to the world of Wasteland, we’re excited that you want to come out and perform for one of the most unique audiences in the world, at a venue like no other. We’re looking for bands, DJs, fire performers, dance troupes, gogo dancers, and more! We have a limited number of performer slots available.

Given the visual nature of our event, it’s a great place to get photos and video of your performance. (We always have great photographers and videographers on staff). You may also get media coverage, as we have local and international media coverage every year, both in print and online. Bands are allowed to sell their merchandise, and most importantly, it’s a hell of a lot of fun. The event is 5 days long, and if you get a comped ticket for performing, you get to enjoy all days of the event when you’re not performing.

Please read this entire page before submitting your application.
Do not submit an incomplete or placeholder application.

Incomplete applications will automatically be rejected.

    Available Days:
If you are selected to perform at Wasteland Weekend/Neotropolis, your application will be used to schedule you. Ensure all information provided is correct. If you select that you are available Wednesday through Saturday, but then are unavailable on Wednesday when we tell you you're scheduled on that day, we may rescind your approval.

    Videos for Bands:
All live band applications must contain AT MINIMUM one video of a live performance in front of an audience with your band's current lineup. If submitting this video through a link, the link must lead directly to the video (such as a youtube link to the video, not just your band page). You may submit additional videos of music videos, audio tracks, etc.

    Videos for Non-Band Performers:
All non-band performer applications must contain AT MINIMUM two videos: (1) video of the act you are applying to perform at Wasteland Weekend or Neotropolis and (2) video of a past live performance in front of an audience. For (1), you do not need to submit a full final dress rehearsal, a practice run is fine as long as it is enough to give us an idea of the final performance. If submitting these videos through a link, the link must lead directly to the video. If you do not wish to upload these videos in the application (50megs or less) or to a website, you may provide a link to Dropbox or Google Drive. Make sure performers@WastelandWeekend.com or performers@Neotropolis.com has permission to access these files.

    Website/Social Media Links for Bands:
All provided links must be live, public, and contain relevant information. Links to soundcloud, bandcamp, spotify, YouTube, etc. are fine for showcasing your music. We need to see that you have enough music to fill a 45-minute set.

Website/Social Media Links for Non-Band Performers:
All provided links must be live, public, and contain relevant information. Private or locked social media accounts will not be considered. Personal social media accounts that are 99% your dog, 1% your performances where we have to scroll back months to see anything about your performance, while cute, are not helpful.

    Costumes:
If your video submittals do not contain your theme-appropriate stage costume, submit photos of all costumes and props to ensure they are in theme and appropriate for the event.

Purchasing Tickets if Your Application is Denied:
Because we have a system for ticket prices where they go up at intervals as the event approaches (to encourage people to buy early) we think it's only fair that you should be able to buy tickets for the price they were when you actually applied to perform (assuming you want to buy tickets and attend the event). Therefore, if you put in your performer application prior to the dates ticket prices go up, you may buy tickets at the original price of when you applied and so on as the tier pricing increases. If you attempt to apply after tickets are sold out, you will not be given the option to purchase tickets.

    Email Correspondence:
Check the email address you provided on your application regularly, and add performers@WastelandWeekend.com or performers@Neotropolis.com to your contacts to ensure our emails do not go to your spam folder (THIS IS IMPORTANT because spam filters seem to be much more stringent these days). If you are approved but do not respond in a timely manner, we may replace you on the schedule and rescind your approval.

Please be patient when waiting to hear back from us, as we have a large number of applications to go through and a very small staff.

Other Performances at Wasteland Weekend / Neotropolis:
A number of performers, bands, and DJs perform at Wasteland Weekend / Neotropolis in an unofficial capacity at camp venues. This is usually allowed. However, if your application is approved, the official event schedule must take priority. We will not reschedule you if you are unavailable to perform due to a non-official commitment elsewhere at the event, and we may rescind your approval.

    Notes about the Form:
*Fields with red asterisk must be completed, please do not use false information or other gibberish to complete the form. If a question really doesn't apply to you, you can enter N/A or None. The more complete your form, the faster we can process it and the better chance you have of being selected.

    Your E-mail Address:
Each applicant must have their own e-mail address for submission and ticketing reasons.

DO NOT SUBMIT A SECOND APPLICATION!
Additional applications will be deleted automatically by Jotform. When in doubt, exit out of the application and start from scratch when you have all the information you need in one spot.

So no, you don't need to worry about the event selling out while you wait, or ticket prices going up. The only exception is in the rare case that you apply to perform after tickets sell out but we usually have all performance slots booked by that point.
