Suicide Program - CALM Yarn Train the Trainer Expression of Interest

Selection Criteria:

The CALM Yarn is an indigenous suicide intervention program and the T4T is only open to those that identify as Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islanders or community workers.

The CALM Yarn workshop is a one-day workshop that teaches four key actions: Connect, Ask, Listen, Monitor to build confidence, knowledge and skills. Developed in partnership with the Indigenous Peoples Team at Richmond Fellowship Queensland.

The T4T is effectively delivered over 4 days in-person. This ensures that all participants understand the theories, principles and models that underpin the CALM Yarn program; fully grasp and are able to demonstrate their ability to explain and use the culturally appropriate CALM Yarn model of intervention, and gain confidence in their ability to competently deliver this program to their participants.

3. Terms and conditions

· Full attendance and active participation in the T4T from 9 am-5 pm (registration at 8:45 am) on the nominated training date.

· Delivering at least two (2), workshops per year to a minimum of nine (6) participants annually, the purchase of participant materials from Suicide Programs for each participant trained, and a completed a trainer’s report, End User Agreement, and participants feedback forms for each training delivered.

· Your participant trainer kits are purchased directly from Suicide Programs for $36 per participant (this includes a 24-page workbook/journal and wallet card)

· Sign a Training agreement at the successful completion of the T4T. (A copy of this agreement can be supplied upon request prior to signing this application). Please note successful completion is at the discretion of the Directors of Suicide Programs. Should you be deemed as not yet competent, additional support, one on one coaching, and or free attendance at a future T4T will be offered.
