  • The Hawke's Bay Independent Flood Review – Pae Matawai Parawhenua (the Review) has been commissioned by Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) for the purpose of investigating the circumstances and contributing factors that led to the flooding in the Hawke's Bay region during Cyclone Gabrielle.

    The Review Panel is seeking information from the public about their experience of and impacts from the flooding during Cyclone Gabrielle in Te Mata a Māui (Hawke's Bay). The terms of reference can be found here.

    I understand that, unless I agree expressly:

    • The information I provide to the Review Panel as an individual, or on behalf of an organisation, will inform the Review and may be referred to in the Review report at a general or aggregate level, or in a way that does not identify me or any organisation on whose behalf the information is provided.
    • I am providing this information to the Review Panel in confidence and solely for the purpose above.
    • My personal details, and any details identifying me, will not be made public in the Review report, and no comments or information I have provided will be attributed to me in the report.
    • Following the Review, the information obtained by the Review Panel will be retained by HBRC in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. The Review Panel will first redact any information identifying me or any organisation on whose behalf the information is provided.
