Established in 1980 in recognition of the superior service and organizational leadership provided by NCMS President Donald B. Woodbridge. This award is NCMS’s most prestigious honor and is considered a lifetime achievement award. It reflects the attainment and embodiment of the highest standards of the Society by either an individual or organization.
Nominees are judged on the basis of their contributions to the broad field of classification management. This may include policy, education, training, procedures, dedication to the Society in the form of contributions made to the Society in education, chapter support, chapter service and national service, chapter programs for educating and informing, and specific programs or any combination of these elements. Consideration shall be given to organizations that have made a major effort in enhancing their classification management programs, or for the amount of support that the organization has provided to NCMS. Nominations may be in recognition of service during the immediate past year or several years, or in recognition of an earlier contribution or accomplishment which is gaining acceptance.
An award nomination will not be carried over from year to year. Nominations that are not appropriate for the Woodbridge Award will be redirected to the Awards Chair to be evaluated for submission under another Awards Category. Nominations may be submitted by any chapter or individual member through the online submission process. The nominations are reviewed and the selected nominee is recommended by the Woodbridge Award Committee of the President’s Advisory Council directly to the NCMS Board of Directors for approval.
Note: Current NCMS Board of Directors members are not eligible for this award.
