  • Please make sure to complete this form fully as it begins the communication and academic evaluation by the Registrar's Office your graduation. The information provided is also used to plan for commencement activities and ceremony.

  • Graduation & Diploma Information

    Graduates will receive a printed and digital version of their diploma once their degree is awarded. Printed diplomas will be mailed to the Diploma Address provided in the Self-Service portal. Please provide a physical mailing address. We CANNOT mail to PO Boxes. The Digital diplomas will be emailed to their PNWU issued email.

    PNWU would like to announce the news of your graduation to a newspaper of your choice.  Please be aware that the information is published based on the discretion of each publication, we will do our best to share your news.

  • DO Graduate Information

    Commencement required for those who meet the following requirements
  • A student who has fulfilled all the academic requirements will be granted the degree Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine provided the student:

    • Has complied with all the curricular, legal, and financial requirements of the University
    • Attends the commencement ceremony in person
    • Has met requirements for graduation that include passage of COMLEX-USA Level 1 and 2CE
    • Is at least 21 years of age
    • Has demonstrated the ethical, personal, and professional qualities deemed necessary for the successful and continued study and practice of osteopathic medicine
    • Has demonstrated suitability for the practice of medicine as evidenced by the assumption of responsibility for patient care and integrity in the conduct of clinical activities
    • Can meet the minimum technical standards as detailed in the PNWU Student Catalog
    • Is free of any outstanding medical debts to the University’s affiliated hospitals and clinics
    • Has attended and completed required exit sessions and surveys as determined by PNWU, i.e. loan counseling, etc
    • Has obtained approval from the Student Progress Committee, Faculty, Dean, President, and Board of Trustees of PNWU

    Final Responsibility for meeting degree requirements and application deadlines resides with the student.

  • Commencement Participation Requirements

    Academic requirements will be reviewed by your regional team and the Registrar's Office to determine the student's eligibility to particiapte in the May commencement ceremony. 

    Please review your unofficial transcript and academic plan on Self-Service and your rotation schedule on E*Value for any missing or inaccurate courses prior to submitting your application.

    In addition to the academic requirements, a student who has completed the following is eligible to participate in the May commencement ceremony:

    • Completed all first and second year course requirements
    • Completed 44 credits of clinical rotations by March 1, prior to May commencement ceremony and has a documented academic plan to complete all required rotations by December 31 of graduation year
    • Passed COMLEX Level 2CE by May 1, prior to May commencement ceremony

    Final responsibility for meeting degree requirements and application deadlines resides with the student.

  • Commencement Participation

    • Guest Hooder Information 
    • Students with an immediate family member with a DO or MD designation may invite them to participate in the ceremonial hooding.  Immediate family members include spouse, parent, sibling, or grandparent. Limit of two guest hooders per graduate.

      Guest hooders are required to wear academic regalia.  Regalia rental details will be on the PNWU graduation web page.

    • Military Promotion 
    • Military Promotion will be held on May 18, 2024. Guests of graduates are welcome. For a complete schedule of all ceremonies, visit the PNWU Commencement web pages.

  • MAMS Graduate Information

  • Commencement is optional for MAMS students. Please let us know if you will be attending the ceremony. 

    Even though commencement participation is optional, please make sure all Self-Service Checklist items are complete. Review on the MAMS Graduation Requirements web page.

  • A student who has fulfilled all the academic requirements will be granted the Master of Arts, Medical Science degree provided the student: 

    • Has complied with all the curricular, legal, and financial requirements of the university.
    • Has met requirements for graudation as stated in the university catalog.
    • Has attended and completed required exit sessions and surveys as determined by PNWU, i.e. exit loan counseling, etc.
    • Has obtained approval from the Student Progress Committee, Faculty, Dean, President, and Board of Trustees of PNWU. 
  • Friday Events, Guest Ticket Information, & Seat Accommodations

    Please complete the three sections below.
    • Graduate Luncheon, Awards, and Financial Counseling 
    • (COM and MAMS graduates only)

      The Friday before commencement, PNWU hosts a luncheon for graduates as a time for individual regalia photos, award recognition, and to socialize with classmates. Please wear business attire. 

      As a part of this day, students with federal student loans are required to attend an in person PNWU specific Student Loan Exit Session. This is in addition to the required federal student loan exit counseling completed online.

    • Graduate Guest Information 
    • Graduates will be provided with 6 tickets for their guests. Tickets will be randomized and assigned with all efforts made to keep the group's seats in close proximity. Seats not needed by graduates will go to fill other graduate requests for additional seats.

      *Please note: wheelchair seats and DO guest hooder count toward the graduate's allotted tickets.

      • Tickets will be emailed to your PNWU email account. 
      • Any unused tickets will go to students who need more then 6 assigned tickets. 
      • Graduates do not need a ticket. 
      • Children who can sit in a parent/legal guardian's lap comfortably and does not block views of others does not need a ticket (children under 2yrs).
    • Seating Accommodations 
    • Requested seating accommodation will be reviewed and attempted to be fullfilled. An elevator designed for handicapped patrons is available between the orchestra level and the lower level restrooms.

      The Capitol Theatre has eight wheelchair and companion seats available on the orchestra level of the theatre. Wheelchair seats will be assigned on a first come, first served basis dependent on submission of this application. One companion seat is guaranteed with each wheelchair seat on the orchestra level. If wheelchair requests exceed the orchestra level seating, additional wheelchair and guest seating is available in the 4th Street Theatre for viewing via live streaming. There are no limitations on companion seats in the 4th Street Theatre.

    Final responsibility for meeting degree requirements and application deadlines resides with the student.  Any unfulfilled degree requirements may be noted as "diploma pending" in the commencement ceremony program.
