  • Goals and expectations for Training: 

    You are currently seeking out our board and train program. B&Ts are typically three weeks or longer, during which the dog stays with a trainer for the duration and undergoes training. B&Ts are great for dogs to be fully immersed in training and structure provided by a professional trainer, especially when owners don’t have the time or ability to reinforce the training on a daily.  At the end of this section will be the listed board and train curriculum.  

  • Please understand that the training will result in the dog responding to the Trainer and that the dog may not initially respond as reliably to the Owner. To ensure Dog’s response to you, you will have to:
    ·       To understand and apply the basic principles of training as described and demonstrated in the Transfer Session, and in the Training Handbook sent home
    ·       To use the cues (commands) supplied by Trainer
    ·       To practice with the Dog daily (20 minutes a day, 6 days a week)
    ·       To integrate training into daily life (as described by Trainer and Training Handbook) so
    o   as to support behavior goals (not inadvertently punishing the good behavior and
    o   rewarding the bad.)
    ·       To follow training and management advice as given by Trainer

  • Board & Train Packages:

  • Puppy Start-Up, which is equivalent to my Puppy Preschool Program with added potty training, is 3 weeks and costs $1600. This is for dogs 6 months and younger. This is also a foundation program [your dog will not be considered "fully trained" after this program]. Your puppy will have learned basic manners like not jumping, nipping, and waiting at doors, how to settle, place training, crate training, basic sit, down, come, and name recognition. As well as an intro to the leash and socialization with other animals and people. Add another week for things like potty bell indication, loose leash walking, and cooperative grooming. 

    Other Board & Train base program is priced at roughly $500/week, discounts occur as you add on. Most Dogs need 5 weeks, more depending on their age and breed. There is a progression to get to the advanced level dog everyone dreams of. 

    Beginner Obedience Program [Base Program] 5 Weeks $2500. 

    Commands & Skills Learned: Sit, Down, Touch, Focus, Leave it, Wait, Sitting for Petting, Stay (10ft), Recall (25ft). Intro to Heel Command. Place Training, Crate Training, Settling, General Manners such as not jumping, a waiting at doors. Loose leash walking. Intro to public outings and socialization. Dog should be able to pass AKC Canine Good Citizen Test after returning home.

    Intermediate Obedience Program [Adds 3 more weeks to Base Program]

    8 Weeks, $3200 total.

    Commands & Skills Learned: On leash heel, around/finish, drop item, spin (or equivalent trick), Drop Down (down from distance), Greeting new people, Stay 20ft+, Recall 40ft, even more reinforcement on ignoring distractions on public outings. [Again, your dog will have already gone through the base program and has learned those skills, and we will also be reinforcing those.] Dog should be able to complete up to the AKC Canine Good Citizen Advance Title after returning home. 

    Advanced Off Leash Obedience Program— it is highly recommended that you take your dog home for a couple of months and then return for this program. [Adds 4-5 more weeks to Base Program] 10 weeks, $4,500

    Commands & Skills Learned: Includes everything in Base Program, plus - Stand, Front, Finish, Loading in the vehicle, place on platform, off leash recall (50ft+), Stay(30ft+), off leash heel, off leash distance training. Tricks/special requests are available. 

    Off to the Show! For those wanting to start trialing their dog in AKC Performance Sports. Equal to Advanced Program. This program focuses on more formal obedience, building up drive for food and toy motivation with dog sports. Owner must attend a 2-day hand off weekend where we go over everything. 

    10 weeks, $4,500 - 5,000.

    Commands & Skills focused on: Straight* Sit, Down, Touch, Front, Stand, Finish/Around, Focus, Spin, Back up, Introduces dogs to: Foot targets, Bowl work exercises, Drop Down, Figure 8 exercise, Take it (dumbbell), beginner retrieving skills, Working around other dogs. I've had 2 others complete a similar course - their dogs were able to receive their CGC, Trick Dog Novice, Rally Novice, Beginner Novice Obedience, and Dock Diving Novice titles within 4 months of completing my program. 

  • Welcome to the last portion of the application: Timeframe!

    The majority of my B&Ts are roughly a month, so I typically take 1-2 dog a month in for these programs. All dogs who come to my facility must be fully vaccinated against rabies, parvo, distemper (all found in your dog’s annual shots) and Bordetella (kennel cough). I also require a mandatory behavior evaluation for any potential board & train candidates.  

  • How do you pay for board & train programs?

    My programs are paid half up front and half at pick up for each program. For combined programs, we will have payment installments at the beginning, middle and ending of each designated program. For example, upon dropping your dog off for the base + intermediate program, you will pay half of the base program price down, half at the end of the 5 weeks, and then pay for the intermediate program at pick up. I'm still working on the possibility of payment plans, so don't fret. There are no refunds.
