  • Daily Sheet for Defense

  • Fill out this form for each team from your school. You will receive an e-mail with the summary of this form and a link to print out copies to provide to opposing council for each round of competition.

    Important rules to remember when filling out your Daily Sheet:

    • Per Rule 3.2: Each team must have two or three attorneys, three witnesses, and a timekeeper. Teams may have up to two alternates, and a courtroom artist. Alternates will be considered inactive participants and will be treated as spectators for the round.

    • Per Rule 3.3: Team attorneys are to divide their speaking duties evenly. Opening statements and closing arguments must be delivered by different attorneys. The attorney assigned to examine a particular witness is the only person who will ask questions of that witness or make objections to the opposing attorney’s questions of the witness. All witnesses must take the stand.

  • Attorney Roles

  • In this section, enter the names of the student attorneys who will be responsible for the opening statement, direct examinations, cross examinations, and closing argument.

  • Witness Roles

  • In this section, enter the names of the students playing each witness and the order in which each witness will be called.

  • Timekeeper and Courtroom Artist

  • Each team is required to have a timekeeper. Courtroom Artists are optional.

  • Alternates

  • Enter the names of the team members who are not participating on the Defense.

  • Please review your Defense Daily Sheet to make sure it is correct. Once you are satisfied, click "Submit" and you will receive an email with your Defense Daily Sheet and a link to edit any of your entries up to 48 hours before your competition.
