The City of Burbank seeks individuals who have a record of arts activities, experience, and knowledge to review and score grant applications based on a grant program’s published criteria. Qualifications for panelists include expertise in visual and performing arts disciplines, experience in arts administration and nonprofit service, familiarity with the City of Burbank, the work of local nonprofits, and the arts ecology of Los Angeles (LA) County.
WHAT’S INVOLVED
Applying to become a panelist for the Community Arts Grant program does not necessarily mean you’ll be selected to serve on a panel. Panelists approved by the Burbank Cultural Arts Commission will remain a part of the grant panelist pool for three (3) years. Panelists must reside in LA County and are required to:
· Become familiar with the Community Arts Grant guidelines to develop a greater understanding of the purpose and goals of the program;
· Thoroughly read all applications, view all attachments, supporting materials, and websites and social media pages;
· Assign a preliminary score and provide comments using the review criteria on the score sheet provided; and
· Participate in a one-day panel review meeting to review and finalize scores.
Selected panelists can expect to receive approximately 25-35 applications and will review them using specific criteria provided by the City, spending approximately 20 minutes on each application. Panelists will sign a Confidentiality Agreement and receive an honorarium of $250.
To nominate yourself or another individual, fill out the form below. Nominations for the 2026 panel should be submitted no later than Friday, October 6, 2025.
