The Parrot Outreach Society wants to be certain you understand what you’re in for before you make the decision to adopt a bird. We do ask for a formal adoption donation, which varies according to species and condition, (and is lower than the fees requested in larger cities}, to help us offset the costs of helping birds in need. Money orders or cashier's check should be made payable to PARROT OUTREACH SOCIETY and the memo should read RESCUE. We do NOT accept personal checks. Donations are non-refundable.

Completion of this application does not guarantee you will qualify to adopt a bird. Prior to adoption, one or more members of the Parrot Society Rescue Team will do a home visit via video to be sure you will be able to provide a healthy and safe environment for the bird. Please understand that a criminal background check will be done ONLY to ensure the adopter has no animal cruelty charges against them.

Please be Advised: Anyone attempting to acquire birds for persons having lost pets to any County Animal Control or FFWC will be reported to the authorities. An Adoption Contract must be signed prior to the bird leaving our possession
