    Thank you for considering me!

Before we move forward I'd like to tell you a little bit about me and what I (Fackrell Masonry) currently does.

My name is Brad Fackrell. I’m an independent masonry contractor that took over the family business about ten years ago. My family has been doing masonry work in Southern Idaho since the early 70’s.

I do small masonry projects that include:

    • New and custom stone/brick/block installation up to approximately 500 square feet. That’s about the size of a fireplace/chimney veneer or veneer on the front of a house or interior walls.
    • New patio/driveway paver installations up to approximately 1000 square feet. That’s the size of a medium to large driveway or patio. I don't pour new concrete pads...not enough muscle!
    • Chimney/fireplace Repair. I’ve never met a chimney that I could not repair! I’ve repaired some that needed just a little TLC and some that have been completely knocked to the ground by forces of nature and everything in between.
    • Repointing – mortar repair. I can repoint any size building from a small house up to schools and large commercial buildings.
    • Brick/Block/Stone repair. Often as part of repointing, I also repair damaged masonry components.
    • Masonry Damage Repair. I repair any kind of masonry damage which can include things like cars running into a wall, post or fence water/weather damage or just general wear including spalling bricks and eroding mortar.

If you’re not sure, just ask. I don’t bite!

If this is what you're looking for, just hit 'Next' so that I can gather a little information about you and your project.

You selected 'Matching New with Old'.  I like to be certain that customers understand that a true "match" is relative.  What one person thinks of as a match another might not agree is a match.  In the masonry world, an unnoticeable match is simply impossible when making repairs or updates, regardless of what Mark on This Old House tells us!  In Marks's "Matching" segments, he never shows a picture of the old mortar next to the new mortar.

With true Historical Restoration there are factors to be considered other than a visual match.  Aside from those other factors, more effort can be put into a visual match, but it comes at a cost.

I always tell people to keep in mind that no matter how much effort we put into matching, you will always see the difference.  It's just a matter of how much you are willing to pay to minimize the difference. Some effort is included with all of my work.  I never just use plain mortar when it obviously has some color pigment in it.
