This instructor inquiry form will help us get to know you a little better and offer insight into which courses may be a good fit for you to teach.

Please note, as much as we would love to, we are not able to respond to all inquiry submissions. If you are a good fit, based on the answers provided in the inquiry form, someone from our team will reach out to you in 48 to 72 business hours.

Candidates must be located in the United States. If you reside outside of the United States, your application will not be accepted.

Instructing Standards

Before we get started, we want to give you the skinny on eXcelerate classes and our nerdy instructors:

We are very selective about who we select to provide instruction to our students. There is a strong emphasis on "teach it to a student as if you are teaching a third grader" and supporting our student.

Here at eXcelerate, we love to teach different technology but in a very simple and easy to understand manner. We HATE tech jargon! We have a team of super smart and nerdy subject matter experts, but we all foster a non intimidating classroom learning environment.

Each instructor on our team has their own teaching style, but we all embody the following:
- Speak in layman's terms.This means to remove all of the "techy" vocabulary and speak to the student as if they are a human being learning something for the first time. No "techy" explanations allowed! We conduct a 45-minute, live, virtual instruction test to ensure your teaching style aligns with our instruction expectations.
- Put the student first. We take caring about our students to another level! We are a student-focused company.
- Passion. Our instructors are extremely passionate about teaching and the skills for which they are teaching. We breath, eat, and sleep data and the love of our students!
- Sense of humor and fun. We only hire instructors with a big sense of humor! Tech is sometimes dull and boring, but we like to make it exciting. We foster jokes here! We like to have fun while we teach!
- SMEs (subject matter experts). Our instructors know their stuff! Some are self taught and some have decades of experience from other forms of learning. Our instructors are so good, they can teach their curriculum in their sleep (no kidding....that is how smart they are)!
- Approachable. Our instructors love to engage with our students and let the students feel comfortable asking questions. Here at eXcelerate, we never like for our instructors to think they are smarter than any other peer instructors and/or students. We are all humans who have a passion for teaching data and make sure our students can approach us with any data related questions without any judgement!
- Communicative. Communication is our second language here. We are biiiiiiggggg on communication.
- Personality. It is VERY important for our instructors to have a great personality and not be afraid to connect with students. We are tech nerds who like people! Personality over skill is a BIIIIGGG part of our hiring decision.

Classroom Standards

We pride ourselves are practice, practice, practice, and review, review, review! We have a "No child left behind policy" (we aren't teaching kiddos, only adults, but you get what we mean here, right?).

Our classroom focus is quality vs. quantity. We understand that students are not going to leave our boot camps as experts. Because of this, we teach in levels:
- Beginner
- Intermediate
- Advanced
Each boot camp level spans anywhere from 10 to 28 hours. Our focus is to ensure our students truly feel comfortable learning all topics in their designated boot camp level. We believe in taking things slowly and building from there. Usually in tech, speediness is key. We follow the opposite here at eXcelerate.

Boot Camps should…

- Be realistic: Apply real world learning
- Be easy to understand: Deliver content that can be easy to understand and taught within 10 to 28 hours (Remember, our boot camp is structured into levels. Each level should be taught within 10 to 28 hours)
- Be practical: Include in-class and post-class practice exercises (practice, practice, practice!)
- Be affordable: We are very big on offering in demand skills at affordable prices. It is not our mission to nickel and dime our customers out of learning in demand skills at unaffordable prices. We offer our boot camps anywhere from $99 to $399 per student.

Key Things to Know

Before we move forward, here are some key things to know (PLEASE DO NOT SKIP):
- All of our roles are contract based and paid via 1099
- Classes take place on weeknights and/or weekend mornings
- Compensation is commission based for class instruction (25% of course sales)
  - Instructors are paid $35 - $60/hr on average
    
    This average hourly rate is based on average length of time of a boot camp, which can span 10 to 28 hours on average.
  - Commission structure is non negotiable
- Compensation is hourly for all pre-course preparation at $30 - $35/hr at a max of 5 hours per week.
- Instructors must be based in the United States.
- Most classes contain 12 to 25 students on average (12 is the average for most advanced boot camps; 25 is the average for most beginner to intermediate boot camps)
- All instructors will go through 4 to 8 weeks of training prior to their first course (candidates with prior teaching experience have the option to bypass training if management approves)
- Instructors must be currently employed in a role that uses the software in which you would want to teach OR have at least 3 years of practical on-the-job experience if you are currently unemployed.
