Parade Safety Rules & Guidelines
1. Starting at: Central Ave. enter via Brock Ave. between 9:45 - 10:30 a.m. We'll follow the traditional route along North Main Street, starting at Central Ave. and East Greer and ending at Chiquola Baptist Church.
2. Maintain a safe distance behind the participant in front of you WHILE KEEPING THE PACE consistent throughout the parade route.
3. Once your entry has started along the parade route, no one may board or exit your float/vehicle.
4. Entries that include children under the age of 13 must have adult supervision.
5. All vehicles must be insured and drivers must have a valid drivers license. Operators of vehicles agree to comply with state and local laws and ordinances.
6. To ensure public safety, all participants are encouraged to hand out, not throw, candy and goodies to spectators.
7. Pets can be a part of the parade but must be controlled by the owner AT ALL TIMES. The animal must be on a leash or in a cage. Any incidents occurring from the animal will be the responsibility of the owner.
8. Parade will conclude at Chiquola Baptist Church on East Greer Street. Participants should not exit floats until conclusion of parade.
9. Parade officials reserve the right to eliminate any entry that is in violation of parade guidelines or deemed inappropriate.
10. By filling out the registration form, the participant gives consent that the HONEA PATH CIVITAN CLUB can process the data provided within the framework of the event and allow photographs to be madeduring the parade. This includes, unless registered participants object, all handling needed for the applicant’s participation at the event and for the drafting of a list of participants which will be distributed prior to and at the parade, and posting photographs for the public on the HONEA PATH CIVITAN CLUB Facebook page or selecting some photographs for articles on the parade in a magazine or newspaper, or in any other web/printed publication.
