You have been invited to share your art installation concepts as we bring forth the magic for 2024.

PROMPT:

The Forest is one of several places on earth, where the veil to unlimited possibility, to unlimited magic exists. The trees are no ordinary trees, for they are a part of a mystical torus of enchantment, pulling pure inspiration from the ethers, spreading it through their roots and disseminating this magic through fruiting bodies of limitless imagination. Anything grows here.

The Forest operates by its own set of rules, housing mysticism and mythical creatures alike. It is everything the industrious civilizations cropping up around it, are not. It is a place for the untamed, uncontrollable, mysterious, and wild.

But this torus is not a limitless, self feeding cycle. It needs the electricity of life, of collaboration and participation to complete the cycle and keep it alive. But, if one’s heart turned to greed, apathy or ill will, all would vanish under the naked eye.
And then one day, it did just that. It vanished.

Seductive technologies stole the youth’s attention and the electrical current of life in The Forest was gone.

Wanderers still feel the magic; they believe the magic lives on in the spirit of The Forest. Enchantment evokes when wanderers come together; their energy makes magic rise from the enchanted ground. And it is there for those who are open to see.

NOTE: please do not feel confined to Euro Fairy Tale themes. Unleash your imagination

You must bring all necessary equipment to setup, activate and break down your art installation and/or performance, including staff, tables, chairs, ladders, tools, easy ups, rain protection, shade, hardware, paint, sealers, etc.

If you are unsure regarding what type of power you may need, start with the type plug you will require to safely power your art installation. Check with a licensed electrician if you have any questions, but there are several websites you can visit.

Please account for approximately 15% more time than you anticipate it taking to build your project due to weather conditions and limited shared resources.

VIII. LODGING & CAMPING

CAMPING RULES:

Staff & Performers may camp in the Artist Compound in Lot C. Within the compound are a few shade tents called the Canopy, these are shared open air tents. Everyone under the Canopy may use a 10x10 space. Tents larger than 10x10 will have to set up in the open field to ensure there is room for everyone.
